China en Europa lanceren SMILE-satelliet om magnetosfeer van aarde in kaart te brengen

China and the European Space Agency launched the SMILE satellite on May 19, 2026, to observe Earth's magnetosphere from 75,000 miles away. Unlike previous missions that gathered data from single points, this spacecraft will capture wide-field images of the entire protective magnetic shield surrounding our planet using X-ray and ultraviolet technology.
