UK sovereign AI fund to build up domestic computing infrastructure

Britain's sovereign AI fund launches April 16 to build domestic computing infrastructure. Backed by £500 million from the Science, Innovation and Technology Ministry, the initiative aims to secure AI advantages through UK-based external computing services. Led by James Wise of Balderton Capital, the fund will coordinate efforts to develop sovereign computational capacity for national AI development.
