China ontwikkelt fermentatiesysteem dat 33% meer waterstof produceert

Back to overview

Chinese researchers have developed a fermentation system using wollastonite mineral that increases biohydrogen production by 33% while capturing carbon dioxide. The mineral acts as a dual-function agent by buffering pH levels and preventing the accumulation of volatile fatty acids that normally inhibit hydrogen production. At an optimal dosage of 10 grams per liter, the system reduces the initial lag phase by 50% and enables simultaneous CO2 sequestration, offering a promising pathway toward carbon-neutral hydrogen production.
