European Union officials acknowledge that elevated energy costs stemming from regional tensions will persist through 2027, keeping inflation pressures on consumers and businesses. The bloc's economy commissioner attributed the upward price trajectory to geopolitical disruptions, revising inflation forecasts upward to 3.1% this year from an earlier 1.9% projection.
