The United States is getting its first dedicated sodium-ion battery manufacturing facility in Northern California, capable of producing 4 gigawatt-hours of grid storage annually—enough to power approximately four million homes. Peak Energy will operate the 183,000-square-foot plant in Sacramento's Metro Air Park, marking a significant expansion of domestic energy storage production capacity.
