A Dutch court ruled that employees cannot claim accrued vacation pay after two years of sick leave if their employment contract becomes dormant. The judge determined that dormant employment doesn't qualify for paid vacation under the Working Time Directive, meaning employees lose vacation entitlements during extended illness when the contract isn't actively maintained.
