Researchers from the University of Sydney have confirmed that the human heart can regenerate muscle cells after a heart attack, a finding previously observed only in mice. The study, which analyzed tissue samples from heart surgery patients, shows that while the heart becomes scarred after an attack, it produces new muscle cells that could potentially be enhanced to improve recovery.
