Amerikaans onderzoek: kernreactor voorziet AI-computer van stroom

Utah University and Elemental Nuclear Energy Corporation are conducting a first-of-its-kind demonstration using a research nuclear reactor to power artificial intelligence computing equipment. The university's TRIGA reactor will generate 2-3 kilowatts of electricity to operate a high-performance GPU node running live AI workloads. This proof-of-concept aims to show that small nuclear reactors could provide clean energy for data centers, addressing the surging electricity demands from AI applications and high-performance computing without carbon emissions.
