A Dutch court has ruled that squash and padel court rentals are exempt from VAT. The Den Haag court determined that renting these facilities to individual athletes qualifies as exempt real estate rental rather than providing sports facilities. This means squash centers do not need to charge the standard nine percent VAT on court bookings.
