Rotterdam accounting firm Steens & Partners fell victim to a ransomware attack targeting their external IT provider. Cybercriminals stole client data and demanded payment for its return. Multiple other clients of the IT company, including other accounting firms, were also compromised, highlighting vulnerabilities in third-party service dependencies and the cascading risks of supply chain cyber attacks on sensitive financial data.
