Turkey has unveiled the Güçhan turbofan engine, delivering 42,000 pounds of thrust—comparable to fifth-generation fighter jets like the F-35. Showcased at SAHA 2026 in Istanbul, the domestically produced engine aims to reduce Turkey's dependence on foreign propulsion systems and could power future variants of the KAAN stealth fighter. With specifications closely matching advanced military engines, successful mass production would grant Turkey greater operational independence and export capabilities without requiring foreign approval.
