Amerikaans leger test onbemande vrachthelicopter voor gevechtszones

Back to overview

The U.S. Marine Corps awarded Sikorsky and Robinson Unmanned a $15.5 million contract to develop an unmanned cargo helicopter for military logistics operations. The R66 Turbinetruck, equipped with Sikorsky's MATRIX autonomy system, can carry 1,300 to 2,500 pounds of supplies and operate within a 115-mile combat radius without onboard pilots. This pilotless helicopter aims to fill the gap between small drones and larger transport aircraft, enabling supply delivery to forward units in dangerous or inaccessible areas where traditional transport is unavailable or too risky.
