Afvalbatterijen omgezet in goedkope natriumcel-anode
Back to overview
Chinese researchers have developed a sodium-ion battery anode material by recycling discarded mobile phone batteries and industrial lignin waste. The composite material achieved a capacity of 1,062 mAh/g after 300 cycles, demonstrating improved energy storage performance through its honeycomb-like structure. This "waste-to-waste" approach offers a cost-effective alternative to lithium-ion batteries, as sodium is more abundant and cheaper to source than lithium.
