CATL has unveiled a 30 MWh sodium-ion battery system validated in real-world operations, positioning sodium technology as a viable alternative for large-scale energy storage. The Chinese manufacturer plans to ship 1 gigawatt-hour of capacity by end of 2026, following the system's debut in Munich this June.
